The Emcee
"I love taking my time with the verses. Penning bars in 15 - 20 mins has never been my style, and I can say I have never "phoned one in". If you're able to do that, either my hat is off to you, or I'm pretty sure you're part of the problem. I feel like every opportunity to shine is a great one, and you only dissing yourself if you're not giving it 100%. What's more, how are you gonna guage your process in the game? If you are only sometimes coming with your best, i don't know how you can really track your progress. Yeah writing can be challenging, but also mad rewarding. I stay building my skills, and been trying to outdo myself since the first rhyme I wrote. I feel like if you dip your ear in you can see the progression and growth through the journey of songs."— Rel

For features, inquire here.
Featuring here on one of my favorite songs on the album FREE that I produced for my very good friend and world class emcee Eternia.
That Brotha Lokey brings the head nod every time. I'm featuring in this song from his album Urban Revival with my bro Die-Rek.
Did this jawn with 2nd Team from their album Wandering Strangers alongside the ever dope Deacon The Villian of CunninLynguists.
My bro Joint Beauty out of Japan is nice with the beats. I did this feature song Turn Em Up with him on his album Amatsuka.
Me and my bro Mad Dukes out of Buffalo on the track here, from his Open Affairs EP, produced by Fresh Kils.
Me and my bro Royce Birth are featured here on the track "Was" by Dragon Fli Empire on their album Mission Statement. (under the name Relic — erroneous artist links like this one of the reasons I changed my artist name to Rel McCoy)
DJ Uncle Fester and Fresh Kils are The Extremities. Hear me trading verses here with emcee greats Percee P and Ghettosocks on The Extremities album Instruments.
I provided a hook and a verse on this track, alongside Griffin from the album Mending by Paradox & Sean P.
Die-Rek is the long time homie, and a dope emcee/producer out of Toronto. Here's a song we did together on his album The Dying Ones.
Featuring both on the mic and on the beat alongside SwampThing, Wordburglar and my guy More Or Les on his song Icarus from his album Blow The F*ck Up (but stay humble).
Featured here with my bro Skizza on this laid back vibe as a part of his 2022 album Bridge City Underdog, remembering first loves. Chill vibes.
The Producer
"I've been making beats ever since me and Arikitekt bought a SP-1200 so many years ago. A couple years later I copped a ASR-X Pro, a Prophet 2000 keyboard and a copy of Logic 4. Soon I had an MPC 2500, and MPC 3000 and more... I kept my head down and pushed my way through learning how to flip samples, arrange for emcees and singers, and eventually began to learn how to mix from my mentor Adam Messinger. (Justin Bieber / NKOTB) Soon I was producing, recording, mixing and mastering singles, EPs and full length albums for some great talent."— Rel

Looking to work on some music? this page is for you.
I produced and mixed the beats on this album, and also provided a feature here and there. What a pleasure to work with such a talented emcee, and down to earth person. Eternia is the realest.
My guy Wade is one of Canada's dopest emcees with a deep history in the battle scene. Wade and I really put our heads together on this one, and he challenged me in crucial ways that have affected the way I listen and produce music even until today. I produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered this album.
Solar C is a beast, with a voice that's so unique. We had a lot of fun in some late night sessions banging this album out. The rugged style and still positive content is so great. I produced, recorded, mixed and mastered this album, and also provided features on a couple songs.
Melancholy Flowers is a sample free beat tape I produced. Lots of chill / lo-fi vibes for you to throw on in the background. Artwork by yours truly.
This is a reimagined version / tribute to one of our favorite songs by Gangstarr. SeAn Prominent came to me with the idea, I recreated the beat, and he slapped some heavy vocals on top. Incidentally, I also did the artwork for this one, influenced by the "Hard To Earn" album cover.

MIXING
MIX MY SONGSA lot of artists these days are recording themselves at home, and many of them are doing a great job. There's a ton of great free information out there on mics, pre-amps, room treatments and more. I always encourage the entreprenuerial spirit of home recording. Go employ yourself!! I love it.
A problem I hear from many artists recording at home is the trouble they have when trying to add clarity, depth, or punch to their mixes. I've built my business around assisting artists and producers that are in this kind of jam. I turn their DIY sound into professional quality mixes. My long experience with HipHop has given me a fine tuned ear, and makes me a great choice for mixing this genre. Those beats gotta bang baby!
MASTERING
MASTER MY SONGSYour music is only made once but will be listened to thousands of times, and will likely stick around longer than you will. This is your creation, this is your legacy.
With that in mind, why cut corners on the finishing touches of your music? Mastering is the golden frame that your wonderful piece of art will sit in forever! Pop out those subtle yet meaningful nuances in your final mixes, fill out those gentle gaps in your low end for warmth and strength, and ensure that your overall levels are complementary from track to track, meeting today's LUFS standard. We provide full DDP, Vocal, Instrumental, and Clean masters at no extra charge.

THE STUDIO
Established in 2000, the Reservoir Studio fixed it's sights on helping HipHop artists and producers solve problems with production, mixing, and recording. After a second studio build at a new location in 2007, the Reservoir's engineer Mark Morley went on to win a Juno in 2010, (Canadian Grammy - Shad) 2 Independent Music Awards in 2013, (Relic) and had a record in the #1 slot on college HipHop radio for more than 10 weeks n 2015 (Rel McCoy). The Reservoir would eventually introduce mastering to the service set in 2014, with Mark as acting producer and engineer on numerous projects and releases.
I love people, I love music, and I love helping people make their music.
